The Willow Beckons
The willow tree, symbol of the 7th month in the Ogham calendar. April or Saille. It is a time ripe with hope, blossoming into flower. Inspiring us to reach out and fill our lives with light.

Lughnasadh and a season of harvest. Earth’s bounty providing us with sustenance through the barren winter months. We were not meant to dominate nature, but rather to be stewards taking care. And so, give thanks for Nature’s abundance. Working in harmony to ensure this continues for the generations to come.
The Oran Mor, or Great Song, is the Celtic primordial myth of Creation. And it can be heard within us – if we only listen. Thoreau spoke of those who walk to the beat of a different drummer. They hear this music – the Oran Mor -from within. Listen to your heart, your intuition. You will feel whole and at peace. Being in step with yourself is more important than marching to the call of this troubled world.
Our lives tend to resemble a Celtic knot at times. So many weavings -in and out, over and under. It can be complicated. However, it can also be beautiful. We are part of a larger picture of God’s eternal love.
Remembering those friends and family now passed. And so… we celebrate All Saint’s Day and the Celtic Samhuinn. For one short space of time they walk with us yet again – in memory. Thoughts of their loving presence lighten our hearts as the year darkens into winter… and there is comfort to be had in this.
Wordsworth wrote, “The world is too much with us.” As Autumn with its colorful foliage dots the landscape, we are reminded that it’s okay to take a step back from the hectic pace of life, the better to refresh our hearts and souls.
The Oak tree symbolizes the season of mid-summer. It is a tree of strength, wisdom and courage…. an inspiration. For this is a time when all nature awakens to the beauty of life around us. Nature is bursting with new growth… blossoms and blooms. Infusing our spirits with hope and promise. Allow it to fill you with inspiration, and revel in the joy of an abundant life!!
