Peace Prevails
The coming of spring gives us new hope for a troubled world. A sure reminder of God’s continued love and presence.

All Saint’s Day and the Celtic Samhuinn tradition are when we take time out from our busy lives and remember loved ones now gone. A reflection on both the difficulty – and the wisdom – of letting go. Filling the void of grief is a challenge, but… there is comfort for those who mourn. And also – encouragement.
Meditation on togetherness. How nature promotes harmony and balance. This is especially evident come Autumn when the leaves turn color. We too can work and live in harmony and balance. How important and beneficial togetherness can be.
Commentary on the Summer Solstice of June 21st. How yearning for good, striving after the positives of life can make a difference. Within yearning lies the power to change things for the better.
On All Saint’s Day and at the Celtic Samhuinn, we recall the lives of dear ones now passed from sight. As the Autumn leaves turn color and fall… we bask in the memory of those now gone. Lighting a candle in the dark of the year; and in our minds visit with them once again. How blessed we are to have them with us still… if only in our hearts.
A reflection on the need to ‘lie fallow’ after a busy Holiday Season… or following a hectic schedule. Providing rest and refreshment for both the soul, as well as the body. In the long run, it allows us to be more productive… and we are the better and healthier for it!
Remembering those friends and family now passed. And so… we celebrate All Saint’s Day and the Celtic Samhuinn. For one short space of time they walk with us yet again – in memory. Thoughts of their loving presence lighten our hearts as the year darkens into winter… and there is comfort to be had in this.
Take the ‘best of here and now’, wrote poet J.G. Whittier. Reflecting how our lives are like a tapestry. The changing seasons weaving a a colorful design, showing the pattern of our lives for all to see and share.
Wordsworth wrote, “The world is too much with us.” As Autumn with its colorful foliage dots the landscape, we are reminded that it’s okay to take a step back from the hectic pace of life, the better to refresh our hearts and souls.
August is the height of summer. Yet in nature it is the beginning of autumn… Lammas-tide. The harvests are being brought in, as we prepare for winter’s cold. This is a crossroads in time – space between the seasons. Jeremiah 6:16 reminds us to stand at this crossroads and look for the good way. It is there we discover God’s presence… regardless of season..
The Oak tree symbolizes the season of mid-summer. It is a tree of strength, wisdom and courage…. an inspiration. For this is a time when all nature awakens to the beauty of life around us. Nature is bursting with new growth… blossoms and blooms. Infusing our spirits with hope and promise. Allow it to fill you with inspiration, and revel in the joy of an abundant life!!
We are always seeing to the needs of others. But what of our needs. Where do you go when the well runs dry? It is important to give ourselves consideration. Jesus spoke about “springs of living waters,” that renew our spirit and replenish the soul. It is ours for the asking if we listen to our hearts. A well where the waters never run dry… and we will never thirst. Allow yourself this gift from the Father.
