The sun shone bright upon that day when first your eyes met mine.
A whole new life began for us, two loving hearts entwined.
Our future filled with promise of the good times yet to be.
And so we shared this journey, together you and me.
We saw the highs and knew some lows,
but continued on our way.
The ups and downs upon the road
couldn’t hurt us or dismay.
It’s true that love can conquer all,
and to this we do attest.
For as long as we had each other,
we surely felt so blessed.
The lows we had were managed, cause we never walked alone.
And oh, the highs we shared as one, were like nothing ever known!
I would not trade one minute of our time as man and wife.
You have been to me a gift from God, I will treasure all my life.
But journeys are not endless,
and roads don’t run forever.
Oh, how I wish they would go on,
and our together never sever.
But the day has come when you must leave,
and I remain behind.
For God is calling you home to Him,
it is finally now your time.
You have struggled long and battled, I have seen how hard you fight.
To keep on going one more day, lest you slip beyond my sight.
You have tried so hard to stay here, for your presence gives such cheer.
But because I love you greatly, I must give you up my dear.
I do not want to let you go,
it hurts and breaks my heart.
Yet you deserve your peace and rest,
and now from me must part.
Amongst the Angels you will heal;
no longer be in pain.
And that is what I wish for you,
as my teardrops fall like rain.
You will find your place in Heaven, and watch over me with love.
Though I’d rather have you here with us, than among the stars above.
Your gentle spirit will still carry me, along with Dan and Chris.
Though I would wish it different, than to have it be like this.
I give the Angels joy of you, and find comfort in your peace.
My heart is with you always, for my love will never cease.
And when the time does come,
that God should call me home to Him.
My heart shall have no fear,
to be forever together with Jim!
